BeautiFill Tumescent Liposuction

The BeautiFill Tumescent Liposuction procedure uses laser energy under the skin to gently loosen fat from problem areas such as the abdomen, hips, flanks, and thighs. Tumescent liposuction offers all the advantages of liposuction, such as fat removal and body sculpting, but with less risks and a better outcome than the traditional technique. 

BeautiFill is an outpatient procedure performed completely awake and under local anesthetics which avoids risks traditionally associated with general anesthesia. In addition, BeautiFill’s laser energy provides the added benefit of less bruising and swelling often seen with a traditional liposuction.

During the BeautiFill tumescent liposuction procedure, a smaller cannula is used compared to a traditional liposuction, resulting in smaller incisions that usually do not require sutures and also heal faster. Depending on the quantity of fat and the number of places treated, the procedure might take anywhere from one to five hours.

This approach is best suited for people who are not severely obese and otherwise healthy. It is not recommended for those who wish to have a large amount of fat to be removed.

Fat Transfer

BeautiFill is a natural alternative to synthetic fillers that provides better results over the long term! Clinically proven laser technology is used to remove undesirable fat cells from problem regions, and then those very same unwanted fat cells are used to add volume where it’s needed, so restoring the body’s natural balance. 

The live harvested fat cells can be injected into areas where volume has been lost, including many facial areas and certain areas of the body such as the buttocks.

The crucial difference between BeautiFill and other fat transfer methods is how the fat is harvested. Other fat harvesting methods were intended to destroy and/or discard fat, not preserve it for reimplantation. BeautiFill uses a proprietary laser instrument designed to extract the highest quantity and quality of live fat cells for reimplantation. In a clinical study, the fat harvested patients reported greater than 90% fat cell viability. The higher percentage of live cells, the higher chance for cell survival following reimplantation.

“Awake” liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure that requires the creation of small access points (3-4mm) known as “adits” in order to remove stubborn fat. The number of adits varies according to the procedure.
As the post-procedural inflammation subsides, the results become increasingly visible and apparent. In general, patients can expect to see 50 percent of the results within 4 weeks, but it can take up to 6 months to achieve the final appearance.
The active phase of recovery lasts approximately one week. During this time, the inflammation improves gradually, the remaining anesthetic solution drains from the adits, and the healing process begins. To promote healing and prevent complications, a patient must wear a compression garment around-the-clock for at least two weeks.
The day following a procedure, light activity such as walking is strongly advised. A patient can typically resume moderate activity within days and normal daily activities within two to four weeks. Once all adits have completely healed, a patient can typically return to swimming in a few weeks. New scars are especially susceptible to hyperpigmentation from unprotected sun exposure; therefore, our patients are advised to avoid sun exposure or to apply sunblock to prevent discoloration of adits.

Throughout life, the number of fat cells you possess remains relatively constant. Once fat cells are formed, they may decrease in size during weight loss, but they do not vanish. During liposuction, the fat cells are physically removed and do not return. As part of typical physiological processes, new fat cells may form.
